VigLink works a bit differently than other affiliate programs in that it is specifically designed for bloggers. Instead of affiliates picking and choosing which merchants to work with, VigLink uses dynamic links that automatically change to work with merchants that VigLink has determined are offering the highest conversation rates and/or commissions at any given moment.

Before we can adequately explain how to start affiliate marketing, however, let’s first examine the concept in more detail. What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing involves partnering up with a more established ecommerce entrepreneur in your niche and asking them to promote your products to his or her audience. In return, you’d give the affiliate a percentage of revenue from each sale he or she generates. Affiliate marketing can be a great channel for first time ecommerce entrepreneurs because it’s one of the only marketing channels where you can get a 100% return on investment, every time.
Affiliate marketers are always smarter and know what their audience wants. The most successful way to use affiliate programs is to try and promote the products and services that match the needs of your audience. In short, try and educate your audience about the relevant products and the services that they are interested in and give them the right content for their product. This will help in generating more sales.
This is the single most important step when monetizing your social media. Luckily, you already have an understanding of what your audience likes and doesn’t like, so this will be easy. You see it every day with your popular blog posts and viral social shares. Often your audience will be just like you, so simply ask yourself the question “Would I buy this?” If you answer yes, you’re probably onto a winner.
An alternative form form of paid ads to consider is display network advertising. Here, text and image ads are shown on a network of affiliate sites. Affiliates can range from mobile apps, and high traffic sites like wikiHow, to the most niche and local of news sites. The idea is that it is tied to any content that your target audience is consuming every single day.
Understanding the effectiveness of your affiliate program is crucial for sustainable success. Identifying your top-performing affiliate marketers, for example, can help you double-down on what’s working. Why are they so effective? Were they very loyal to your brand before becoming an affiliate? If yes, then maybe you need to contact your most frequent shoppers about joining the program.
Posts without value are posts that will cause your audience to lose interest and the goodwill of your audiences, rendering your efforts of using social media for affiliate marketing useless. For example, on my social media platforms I like to have 80% of my posts as entertainment or education purposes only and only 20% of my posts have anything to do with promotions.
Make sure your social media accounts stay active. The more active you are, the more exposure you will get and the more followers you will naturally acquire over time. Also be sure to stay active in the commenting sections. If someone replies to a tweet or an image on Facebook, be sure to respond. This helps to build a community of followers that you can interact with and build trust. As an affiliate marketer, your ultimate goal is to make money. But is it easier to sell products and services to strangers or people you talk to on a regular basis? In addition to the monetary potential, interacting with people in your niche industry helps you to get inside the minds of your target audience. You can learn what they want, what they don’t like, and what they wish already existed. The more you learn about your target audience, the better you will become at marketing to them and showing them products or services that will actually make their lives better or easier.

No matter where you’re at with your business - whether you're a newbie or seasoned expert - it’s always beneficial to drive more traffic to your store. More traffic means more leads, more leads usually mean more conversions, and more conversions means more sales. The bottom line? Affiliate marketing done right can dramatically increase your sales and revenue.
My policy with affiliate marketing is to only recommend products that I have used or have had someone close to me who I trust use and recommend. This is again something that will add weight to your recommendation and increase conversion – but it’ll also help your reputation and stop you from promoting products that are rubbish. Recommend a product that doesn’t work and your own reputation and any trust you’ve built up with those who follow your advice will suffer. Don’t sacrifice your own brand for the sake of a few quick dollars.
There are many ways to get your affiliate marketing message across, some more effective than others. One of the most effective methods of audience-building is by using Twitter, one of the world's most established social media channels, but equally one that many people wrongly disregard. We spoke to Gerald Murphy from Search Engine Watch about why he values Twitter so much. Many thanks also to Sophie Halley from 7 Things Media for her contribution to the discussion.
Hi there, [insert store name] representatives! I am big fan of your store, as I love the [XYZ products] you have listed. [Talk about what you specifically like about them.] I run a store called, [insert name of your store], where I sell [talk about your niche]. Creative Market is an online marketplace for community-generated design assets. “The company sells graphics, WordPress themes, stock photography, media kits, and other digital goods for use by web creatives” – Wikipedia. It is my new addiction and I can’t get enough. When you have time take a look around so you can see all of the amazing products they carry.

4. Perhaps the most blatant offender is the reply spammer, which is relatively new to the scene. These people reply to popular Twitter users with an affiliate link, and try to trick people into clicking. These reply spammers also try to trick the popular person’s followers, because at first glance, it looks like the Tweet is coming from them. Considering most of these tweets look identical, I simply click the block button and move on. Get blocked often enough and you’ll be suspended. Good luck getting your account back.

I’m very happy that I come across to your site. I would like to start working from home using Pinterest and affiliate marketing and your text here is really supportive. I also have the same issue like Jelena, related to the country where are you from. Actually, not all programs are available to all countries, and that is a huge problem. As an example, today I have tried to get an affiliate link of an adobe cut pro program but my country is not on their list. But nevertheless, I think that we should be persistent and follow good and successful as you are. Thanks for the text.
Shopify has three different account types as well as standalone third-party products like themes and apps. Commissions are paid for sales of any of these products, including users who sign up for a 14-day free trial and then convert to a paid account. Shopify also has a wide range of blog posts, webinars, and video tutorials that can be linked to with the standard commission paid on any sales that are generated.
