According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), you must disclose that you’re an affiliate anytime you promote affiliate products. Why? It’s to protect consumers from being misled. If they know you’re getting paid, they can make a more informed decision about whether to buy a product. Let’s say someone recommends you buy a DJI Mavic Pro drone, raving about all the amazing features. You’re immediately interested. Then you learn that the recommender is a brand ambassador for DJI. Wouldn’t that make scrutinize what they said?  Maybe do more research? That’s the point of disclosures.
Blend planned campaign posts with engagement. Schedule your branded and content posts at least one week ahead. Use scheduler tools to pre-post and then dictate the publishing time. Schedule time each day to check “mentions” of your account so you can respond quickly. Make some time to also interact with people sharing other topics related to your business.
Sign into Youtube and go to “Creator Studio.” Now go to Channel –> Status And Features –> External Annotations. Add your website and go through the verification process. You may need to add your website to Google Search Console. No matter where you’re at with your business - whether you're a newbie or seasoned expert - it’s always beneficial to drive more traffic to your store. More traffic means more leads, more leads usually mean more conversions, and more conversions means more sales. The bottom line? People don’t want to read, ‘This-product-is-great, you-should-try-it-too’ kind of messages. Trust us, they are plenty on Twitter and nobody bothers to click on that link. A more subtle approach would be to tweet the link of the product review that is on your blog. The review must be balanced and tell readers how the product is ‘useful’. Obviously, you couldn’t have done justice to the product review in 140 characters.
It's the same with affiliate marketing on Twitter. Sometimes, to get the long-term interest from users, and to convert those users into people who want to sign up for your affiliate programs, you've got to build up a working relationship based on trust and understanding. Twitter can be a great sales tool, but over a period of months, it can convince initially-skeptical people that you know exactly what you're talking about, and can be trusted with others' time.

If you use another URL shortening service, whether your Associate ID is included can really vary from service to service. Generally speaking, when using an outside URL shortening service, your Amazon Associate ID must be included BEFORE you shorten the URL. You should be aware that some services will add their own Associates tag to the shortened URL or remove your Associates tag altogether. Also, please be aware that some shortening services use their shortened URLs to frame the Amazon site. If the links you get from any service do this, or otherwise do not resolve to the www.Amazon.com domain in the address bar, you cannot use them in the Associates Program and you will not earn referral fees from those links.


Before I really get into the meat and potatoes of this subject, I want to remind you that my YouTube channel is business-focused and I have a business outside of the YouTube channel and affiliates so I have to tread a fine line between promoting affiliates and promoting my own products and/or services. If you’re reading this and you have a blog or a YouTube channel and you’re considering the possibility of making affiliate income your main source of income, you can absolutely do this on a higher level.
This ratio applies to all of your social content, including affiliate links. What this means is that you should be sharing 20% of your own content and 80% of curated content.
