There are many ways to get your affiliate marketing message across, some more effective than others. One of the most effective methods of audience-building is by using Twitter, one of the world's most established social media channels, but equally one that many people wrongly disregard. Your bio should be a very short description about who you are and what you do. Don’t try to attract everyone, rather, go after your target audience. Aside from Twitter being just a numbers game, it is also a game of attracting the RIGHT people. If you have a website you are promoting about dogs, you don’t care about people who have pet birds. So don’t make your bio about “pets”. Make it about dogs specifically (or even a specific breed of dog). It’s always better to start too narrow and broaden over time than to start too broad and have to narrow down later. You’ve got less than 1 minute for your bio to convince others to follow you, so make it good!
This is something you will hear from a lot of millennials - these are people who can get all they need from their smartphone. The old thinking - that websites were something you sat in front of a laptop to view - doesn't really hold up anymore. Murphy goes along with this, saying, "social media affiliate users are impulsive - they might not want to open a newsletter, for example."

Creating excellent content that is better than other affiliate marketers and proving to be the best in the value chain is a challenge these days. Affiliate marketers have the ability to create content of high standards while others don’t have the ability to compete them. This helps them in winning their customers and increasing sales towards their product.
Become an iTunes Affiliate. Apple has an affiliate program that allows affiliate marketers to earn 4% to 5% commission of the sale of songs on iTunes that come from their affiliate links. iTunes has historically accounted for a significant portion of affiliate marketing activity on Twitter, and a number of individuals have had success with this affiliate program across various platforms.
With all of my blog posts, I have the consistently scheduled to share on social media and on Pinterest. This keeps the content in front of my audience. I use the social media scheduling tools Post Planner and Tailwind for this. Many affiliate programs also have great affiliate managers that will send out information with special promotions that you can share. If there isn’t a big sale or promotion going on, I will still try to feature certain high-converting posts on Pinterest, to my email list, etc.
