With all of my blog posts, I have the consistently scheduled to share on social media and on Pinterest. This keeps the content in front of my audience. You’ll realize that attributing commission directly to a specific link is difficult to do, so to gain the insights that will help you best optimize your campaign, you need to be clever. One way is to test a single variation per week – for example only post photos to Facebook at 3pm, then measure the commission earned that for week. The following week do the same, but post at 3pm on Twitter. When providing affiliate links, you want to do is discreetly but also so that the user will actually see it. You can place links in your description (mention this in your video) or even put annotations in your videos for people to click. I wouldn't spam your videos with links, otherwise people will just see you videos as pushy and trying to sell something. The best way is to appear genuine and honest.

I try to personally just err on the side of being as transparent as possible about my relationship with the brand. So if they gave me a free product, and I’m not getting compensated for it, I’ll just say that. If it’s an affiliate relationship, like they have no idea who I am, that I’m even talking about it, but I do get a small percentage of the sale, thank you. I just try personally just to be– because trust is the main thing, like currency with your viewers that is most important. And anything that could kind of potentially violate that, personally I’m just like, I want to be completely up front with you guys about everything, whatever’s going on, so there’s no questions. And you guys can always feel like you can trust what I’m saying.
One other positive about the Ultimate Bundles affiliate program that your readers may not have realized… They actually offer second-tier commissions too, meaning you’ll earn a share of the sales from any affiliates that you refer to the program. In this case, it’s 10% of their bundle sales during their first year as an affiliate which could be a nice earner!
Before I really get into the meat and potatoes of this subject, I want to remind you that my YouTube channel is business-focused and I have a business outside of the YouTube channel and affiliates so I have to tread a fine line between promoting affiliates and promoting my own products and/or services. I want you to remember too that affiliates don’t have to only be products or digital goods, they can also be courses and services from people you respect and want to promote. When one video is finished, the next video in the playlist will automatically start, which is great if you're creating a series of videos. Annotations allow you to create links within the video- so you can link to your previous videos in your newer content, helping spread traffic to your other videos if one does well.
That being said, LinkConnector’s platform looks and feels outdated and is rather clumsily designed. Their dashboard also makes it difficult to find “hot” products or compare conversion rates, leaving affiliates somewhat in the dark about which products to choose. Ironically, despite their low-quality website, they offer some of the best customer service in the affiliate space.
