Hi, just to let you know that I had a conversation with customer service at Amazon.com and they only allow direct links to Facebook, Twitter and Youtube at the moment and I asked about Pinterest and the answer is no you can’t link directly to an Amazon product, you need to go via your own website or blog. If they catch you doing that, your account will be closed as it is against their TOS.
Thanks for the list. Its frustrating to get approved to some affiliate networks. Here’s another affiliate program you can add to the list. It’s a PLR membership site. You get paid even if your customer signs up only for free trial. If they pay, you get 20-50%. To be honest, I earn more from the Free trial signups than the paid ones. This is so exciting! As a blogger, I’m always looking for ways to maximize my revenue streams. Thank you, Tasha (and Abby) for sharing this valuable info. BTW – I am taking Tasha’s Blog Boost Bundle courses AND Abby’s Book Boss course and both are excellent and full of valuable advise! Thanks to you both for taking the time to create these incredible courses!
Multiple Twitter Identities. We have noticed that affiliates using Twitter often maintain multiple Twitter identities. Based on data pulled for the second week in November 2011, 75% of the affiliates found on Twitter maintain more than one Twitter alias. They do this for several reasons: to re-tweet their own posts under different user names in order to drive up a tweet’s popularity; to tweet the same thing over again without appearing redundant; and to follow themselves to ‘seed’ a follower list.
If you have limited budget, don't be afraid to use trial versions of software. I used Adobe Premier to make my YouTube intro (the trial is 30 days, it took me less than 5). There's also plenty of free software you can use too. Do you research and hustle as much as possible. When you start earning money, feel free to reinvest it into your venture and buy something with a little more quality.
Drive E-commerce Sales. If you’ve ever been on Facebook and said to yourself, “hey, I almost want to click that,” then you know the power of advertisement via social media. It allows yout product to gain access to entirely new audiences. And oftentimes, these leads come more pre-qualified than most web traffic because sites like Facebook do a good job in showing its users only the ads that will interest them the most. Thanks to social media profiles, advertising has gotten easier and more-effective. And ultimately, more effective also means more cost-effective.

Google Penguin has made the rules of link placement stricter than before. The website owners have to remain careful regarding the links. Some websites that accept your guest posts or other content remove the links from the body of the content, if they find it too promotional or unrelated to the topic. But, social media allows you to put as many links as you want without penalizing you. You just need to ensure that these links must be useful to your followers or subscribers.

If you want to sell on Twitter, you have to build relationships and create targeted lists based on interests. Once you learn how to build these networks (which really is easy to do), you can link to relevant affiliate offers without having to worry about getting unfollowed or blocked. The key is to let the content, not a Tweet, do the selling. If everything you say on Twitter is a pitch of some sort, it won’t work. However, if you learn to be relevant and helpful, your random pitch will not only be noticed, but will be appreciated.
Creating accounts on these networks is only the first step. Now begins the hard work of building a quality following on each platform. Unfortunately, there is no shortcut if you want your following to be truly engaged (i.e. valuable). By interacting with consumers and joining the online discussions happening in your industry, you can build up your social media credibility and contribute to the 17 percent of users who feel more connected to brands they see on social networking sites.
Depending on your niche, your audience will prefer certain platforms. I know, all these names like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit (don’t forget about Youtube and Snapchat), might sound a bit overwhelming. But you’ll find out that people that read your content and share your interests usually hang out on two or three of these. Again, a social media listening tool could help you analyze which platform is popular among your audience.
Yes – when creating your social network user name and profile, be aware of copyrights and trademarks, both Amazon’s and those of others. As stated in the Associates Operating Agreement, Associates may not take any action that could reasonably cause customer confusion about our relationship with you or misrepresent the relationship between us and you. Using a user name or id which includes Amazon’s Proprietary Terms, like “Amazon” or “kindle,” or using our logos and other trademarked content on your profile may cause confusion by those accessing your profile and also misrepresents the relationship between us and you. Furthermore, as an Associate, you’re also responsible for ensuring that your content doesn’t infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. For more information, please review the Associates Operating Agreement.
That being said, LinkConnector’s platform looks and feels outdated and is rather clumsily designed. Their dashboard also makes it difficult to find “hot” products or compare conversion rates, leaving affiliates somewhat in the dark about which products to choose. Ironically, despite their low-quality website, they offer some of the best customer service in the affiliate space.
LinkConnector imposes a very rigorous and lengthy screening process, so you’ll need to prove that you have a high-quality website and established audience before being accepted. Despite its somewhat schizophrenic approach, LinkConnector does have some very happy long-term affiliates. And their “naked links” allow for direct connection to the merchant website without having to be rerouted via LinkConnector, which will give your website an SEO boost.
If you’re using an affiliate network, the right affiliates will be able to easily find you through the built-in search feature. For example, a simple search for the word “apparel” on AffiliatePrograms.com produces a variety of search results about the best affiliate programs for 2017 under that category, along with reviews. Also, feel free to niche down your search into ‘running’ or ‘crossfit’ to pinpoint a few affiliates who understand your customer base well. They may have a blog that caters to your specific target audience.
For me I would choose a program with Recurring commission. You can build a real passive income. Its the best way to go! One suggestion is contact companies who sell services and ask if you can sell their service for them. Sometimes popular affiliate programs like these have just way too many people trying to sell their service. I personally went to sitecare.ca and asked them if I could sell their service and I couldn’t be happier! So find a service you believe in and go for it!

Twitter is a platform that is perfect for sharing. There are plenty of things that you can share online. For instance, if you are a business that sells clothes, then you might want to share tips on how to pick the correct size for your followers. Sharing in Twitter comes down to quality and beneficial ideas that you will be able to present to your readers and to your followers. Plus, the best thing about sharing is that it will allow people to spread what you might be offering in the market. When sharing in Twitter the golden rule to follow is to give quality to your connections.
It has been over a year since we first asked this question, and even though there still aren’t any definitive answers from YouTube or Amazon, a lot has changed and there are even more examples of people intelligently leveraging affiliate links on their YouTube channels. When used correctly, affiliate links in YouTube are a fantastic way to provide even more value to your viewers as well as earn some extra affiliate revenue. In fact, a recent Quora article we found shows that oftentimes this “extra affiliate revenue” can actually be a very significant amount!
Creating quality content means something different for each industry and brand — whether it’s an engaging post on Facebook, an informative tweet or a beautiful looking picture (with a filter of course!) on Instagram. There are as many ways that social media can be leveraged for affiliate marketing as there are companies willing to make those connections.
For this reason, if you see a good story or idea on Twitter, retweet it (this copies the tweet into your own feed, meaning your followers can see it). On Facebook or Instagram, either share a post or draw attention to it, if you think being associated with the thought boosts your own brand. By giving exposure to things you like, you might just win an ally in the person who originally posted the content (assuming you give him or her the credit they deserve when linking to it). This might mean they do the same thing in return in the future. This will further grow your following.
You can make money on YouTube by doing affiliate marketing, which is including links to products you review and use in your videos that will track a purchase. As anyone who has ever gotten curious about making some extra dollhairs online and read a blog post about passive income knows, affiliate marketing is one of the most popular methods for generating revenue from a blog. It’s easy, you can get started right away, and there are many different businesses who want influencers to promote their products/services online and are more than willing to offer a commission in return.
One keyword will be your main target keyword and the other(s) will be supporting keywords. You want to make sure your main target keyword appears in your blog post title, pin title, blog post URL, and pin description. That means you’ve optimized your pin to rank highly for that keyword. In that case, Pinterest is more likely to show your pin to someone who searches for the keyword. As you can see, Pinterest is a lot like Google. It wants to deliver fresh, relevant content to users. You can help the Pinterest algorithm do that by telling it exactly what your pin is about using keywords. That’s why Pinterest Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is so important!
With all of my blog posts, I have the consistently scheduled to share on social media and on Pinterest. This keeps the content in front of my audience. I use the social media scheduling tools Post Planner and Tailwind for this. Many affiliate programs also have great affiliate managers that will send out information with special promotions that you can share. If there isn’t a big sale or promotion going on, I will still try to feature certain high-converting posts on Pinterest, to my email list, etc.
