You can benefit from social media in two ways: by promoting the content which you create or putting links directly in your social media posts. Chances are you already use social media to promote your blog or website (if not — what are you waiting for?) But let’s face it – in this day and age people don’t always want to click a link to go to a website where you have to click more links. Nearly 50% of affiliate-referred traffic originates from a mobile device. And you know better than me, most of the time on your phone you’re checking Twitter or Instagram, not reading lengthy blog posts.
Affiliate marketing is a great way to start building your potential offering on your Shopify store. There are thousands of affiliate products that you can test on several avenues and be able to profit while testing out the waters on which products there's demand for. You can also identify which demographic you'd want to focus your store towards based on the profitability of your affiliate efforts.

When you include an affiliate link in your description be sure to say somewhere that it is an affiliate link. This can be in the form of a disclaimer at the bottom of your video description or as a parenthetical notation right next to the link. Also be sure to say what product it is for. Nobody likes being tricked into landing on iTunes or Amazon when they think they are going to an artist’s fan page or the ultimate zombie survival blog.
You will first need to learn which products/merchants are best to refer your audience too. Most websites have an “Affiliates” tab at the top or bottom of their website where you can sign up. You can also Google “_____ affiliate program” to see it it shows up here. There are many affiliate hubs which have thousands of products/merchants. Try out Amazon, ShareASale, or CJ. Once signed up and approved, you can start creating your affiliate links:

Write a description using your main target long-tail keyword and 2-3 related keywords from the search results. With a regular pin, your main target keyword should be in your blog post title. meta description, pin title, and pin description. Affiliate pins don’t have a blog post title or meta description so you just need to focus on the pin title and pin description. This below is my affiliate description. Notice how I effortlessly weave in the keywords? After writing your description, read it over and make sure it sounds natural. Below, I used #affiliate, but now I use #ad to be more explicit.
