For example, you can go to Google Images, click on the little gear icon in the upper right corner, click on “advanced search” then only show images that are not protected by copyright. Engage in conversations with the other members to know what exactly they are looking for. This gives you a better opening to push your affiliate links and get them to click and buy.
Affiliate marketing isn’t the only strategy to have evolved recently. Influencer marketing has undergone a makeover of its own, becoming more transparent, more streamlined and more effective. Hi Tim! I’ve talked to Amazon about this as well, as have many other bloggers I know personally. Each one of us is getting different answers. It’s VERY frustrating. Many have been told as long as their Pinterest account is listed in their profile, it’s fine. For those that haven’t, I’ve pointed out during my calls to Amazon that you can pin Amazon affiliate products directly to Pinterest from the rewardStyle interface, so it’s silly for them to tell anyone that they can’t do it directly from their Amazon Associates account. But of course, with Amazon giving different bloggers different answers, you have to do what you are comfortable with. Or, if in doubt, pin Amazon products via rewardStyle if you are a member 🙂 Hope that helps.
My policy with affiliate marketing is to only recommend products that I have used or have had someone close to me who I trust use and recommend. This is again something that will add weight to your recommendation and increase conversion – but it’ll also help your reputation and stop you from promoting products that are rubbish. Recommend a product that doesn’t work and your own reputation and any trust you’ve built up with those who follow your advice will suffer. Don’t sacrifice your own brand for the sake of a few quick dollars.
I find this post extremely helpful. I have found that most affiliate marketers use the marketing tactics that they are taught in the program to which they belong. Most of these strategies are wrong, wrong, wrong. I teach my affiliates (I have another website that offers an affiliate program) that it is much better to sell yourself, your image, trust in you than it is to try to sell the same product that thousands of others are flogging.
If you use another URL shortening service, whether your Associate ID is included can really vary from service to service. Generally speaking, when using an outside URL shortening service, your Amazon Associate ID must be included BEFORE you shorten the URL. You should be aware that some services will add their own Associates tag to the shortened URL or remove your Associates tag altogether. Also, please be aware that some shortening services use their shortened URLs to frame the Amazon site. If the links you get from any service do this, or otherwise do not resolve to the www.Amazon.com domain in the address bar, you cannot use them in the Associates Program and you will not earn referral fees from those links.
Edit the Youtube video you want to add affiliate link(s) to. Click the Annotations tab and “Add Annotation.” Fill out the required info including the time you want that annotation to appear (obviously it should be when you recommend the affiliate product). Near the bottom, add your cloaked affiliate link. Apply changes, then watch the video and test your link.

You’ve probably heard this a million times, but it’s worth reiterating. I still see square pins all the time on Pinterest. With affiliate pins, I make my pins longer than usual so that they stand out. My pins are typically somewhere between 735 x 1250 and 735 x 1400. I also experiment with smaller pins (600 x 900), and they do well too. There is no set rule for the exact dimensions your pins should be. Just make sure they are vertical. I use both PicMonkey and Canva to create my pins. PicMonkey has an edge over Canva in terms of features.

Generally, the most influential parts of your program are the product/service relevancy, affiliate program reputation , and affiliate network or tracking platform. Make sure you include that information when you promote your program.
Treat Facebook as you would an old-school noticeboard - posting announcements and updates, but also asking questions to generate interest, and reposting interesting articles and stories that you think your followers will appreciate. Make sure likes you accumulate are organic; it may be appealing to buy 13,000 likes from an overseas "like farm," but it won't drive any more than the most minimal levels of additional engagement, and ends up looking more like vanity than anything useful.

The task of updating your social media accounts can be done in free hours. It is true that it takes a lot of time, but it is so enjoyable that you do not feel like you are doing any work at all. Moreover, people working in day hours can use their break time to check updates for their accounts.
While there are many different affiliate programs out there, I've put together this list of programs that I'm currently approved for and use for Pinterest affiliate marketing. I do also have two blogs, but when I applied to most of these, I specifically listed Pinterest as my “website” and specified that Pinterest would be my primary marketing channel. A few of them declined me, however, I called/emailed to inquire why. Once they understood why I didn't list a blog, they went ahead and approved me. If you apply and get denied – don't get discouraged! Send them an email or call them and find out exactly why. Also, be sure to review the TOS (terms of service) to see if Pinterest is an allowable platform for promoting their content. And remember, what you pin isn't about what YOU like or want! You have to really keep tabs on your analytics to find out what your AUDIENCE is wanting more of and find affiliate programs for those products!
Every single brand has a different commission rate. So Amazon’s will go up to 10% depending on how many products you sell in a month. But some brands will only do 5%, and some will do 50. Some will do 20. So you’ll have to look in the terms and conditions of that advertiser to see what kind of commission they get and whether you want to work with them or not.
