Wonderful course. Completely takes the guess work and mystery out of setting up a Shopify Affiliate Store. Tim Sharp is knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. He is truly a natural teacher. And the fact he shares SO much detailed information, without subliminally selling alternate personal products, means he really wants us - his virtual students - to succeed. Not only do I recommend, I would pay for any future courses he offers...

Shopping Links worked with the team at Pepperjam to identify a number of influencers who met not only the traffic requirements but were the right fit in terms of audience and brand alignment – all within Nordstrom Rack’s affiliate marketing budget. A total of three fashion and lifestyle influencers provided increased awareness, traffic and sales together with a boost in brand recognition – without the need for more costly traditional advertising methods.
Before you can expect people to follow you, it is important that you build yourself some credibility. Find those in your industry and begin following them. If you’re an affiliate marketer, for example, you can start following all of the companies you promote. But you should also follow individual people such as experts in your field. For example, I have a website called DogFoodInsider.com. On my twitter page (@DogFoodScoop), I follow all of the major dog food companies as well as popular dog experts such as Dr. Karen Becker and Cesar Milan. I also follow dog nutritionists, pet food stores, dog breeders, and anyone else involved with dogs. I’ll even follow random people who are clearly dog lovers and post a lot about their dogs.
Because 2Checkout exclusively sells software and digital products, it is best suited for established influencers whose target audience is interested in buying products in this niche. But while you won’t find any physical products for sale, 2Checkout is probably the market leader in selling software of every type, including very specific use case items (like software that can convert Microsoft Word documents to PDF, for instance).

They want to ensure that anytime you share something you want your followers to buy, they’re aware that you may have other motives than simply being helpful (i.e., making money). Although most of us only share affiliate links for products we believe in, this is not always the case. Which is why it’s important (read: required) to let your followers know you will receive a commission if they purchase through your link.
This is crucial! Do NOT save your affiliate pins, or any pins for that matter, to generic, all-niche boards. You’d confuse Pinterest. When you share a new pin, the Pinterest algorithm goes to work to figure out what that pin is about. It determines this based on the image, keywords, and the boards where the pin is saved. If you want to learn the ins and outs of how the Pinterest Algorithm works, there’s no better course than Pinteresting Strategies. Mommy blogger, Carly Campbell, walks you through how she went from 0-200k page views a month by mastering the Pinterest algorithm and manual pinning.

Being creative in directing viewer attention to your links also helps in getting them to notice it. Adding calls to action in your videos is always an effective method. Physically pointing from within the video to where your links are placed is another clever tactic to direct people’s eyes to them. Toy reviewer Emgo316 does both when directing viewers to the stores that offer the figures he reviews.
Creating a blog is also a great idea to along with your products. Not only does it give you the ability to showcase your products, but it keeps your readers up to date with upcoming products, promotions, descriptive posts, social media sharing, email list building, etc. Here is a FREE 7-Day email course on how to start a profitable blog if you are interested.
SkimLinks is primarily for established content producers (bloggers) who want to monetize their content. With a powerful WordPress plugin and scripts for just about any website type, setting up SkimLinks is very easy. And because you have access to all offers on their platform after you’re approved, SkimLinks is very well designed for affiliates who don’t want to spend a lot of time fiddling around with settings and other fine-tuning.
To be successful in affiliate marketing, you need to know your audience – that seems like the most obvious thing to say, but it doesn’t make it less true. The most effective affiliate marketer is aiming to serve people – find products which are actually interesting to them and tell them why they are useful. To do that, you need to know who these people are.

f you don’t already have a Shopify account, don’t fret—it’s easy to acquire. Their free trial lasts just as long as LeadDyno’s does, allowing you to test their services out before fully committing to the registration. We highly recommend at least checking out their free trial first. Simply log in to their main site and enter your email address to get started.
You can set up a Tweet engagement campaign which will promote your tweets to other people’s timelines. You can choose a specific tweet to promote that perhaps has your affiliate link in there or perhaps it doesn’t and you simply want more relevant followers before you begin to send your affiliate link out. This does cost money but you can select your budget and even small budgets can have a fantastic ROI by the amount of people that see your tweet, interact with it, follow you and perhaps even go on to purchase one of your affiliate products.

There are many ways to get your affiliate marketing message across, some more effective than others. One of the most effective methods of audience-building is by using Twitter, one of the world's most established social media channels, but equally one that many people wrongly disregard. We spoke to Gerald Murphy from Search Engine Watch about why he values Twitter so much. Many thanks also to Sophie Halley from 7 Things Media for her contribution to the discussion.

Many youtubers are already signed up to large affiliate programs like Amazons affiliate program, but don't realize how much more they could be making. There are hundreds of different affiliate programs out there, so it's worth shopping around for the right ones, but if you're looking for a place to start, here are the 10 best affiliate programs for youtubers.
If you’re using an affiliate network, the right affiliates will be able to easily find you through the built-in search feature. For example, a simple search for the word “apparel” on AffiliatePrograms.com produces a variety of search results about the best affiliate programs for 2017 under that category, along with reviews. Also, feel free to niche down your search into ‘running’ or ‘crossfit’ to pinpoint a few affiliates who understand your customer base well. They may have a blog that caters to your specific target audience.
This might sound a bit rude, but it’s true. Through many of my own first hand experiences, it has become obvious to me that people actually like being told what to do. If you post a picture of a cute little puppy, several people will probably like it, comment, or share it with friends. But what if you posted the same picture and said, “Click LIKE if you would snuggle with this puppy!” I can guarantee that you would get more “likes” by adding that phrase.
Know your product. The best content you'll see on YouTube is from someone who knows what they're talking about. If you're new to using a product, make sure you let your users know otherwise it's going to look like you don't know what you're doing. Research reviews and other content so you can see what other problems/issues users have and see if you can address them in your video.
No matter where you’re at with your business - whether you're a newbie or seasoned expert - it’s always beneficial to drive more traffic to your store. More traffic means more leads, more leads usually mean more conversions, and more conversions means more sales. The bottom line? Affiliate marketing done right can dramatically increase your sales and revenue.
Amazon Affiliates typically pays between 3-5% commission for each product sold. What will really determine how much you earn however is your conversion rate. This number is based on the amount of people that watch your videos and then go on to purchase a product you're advertising. This can be as low as 1% but others have reported around 8%. It really depends on your niche and the products your advertising.
Hi there, [insert store name] representatives! I am big fan of your store, as I love the [XYZ products] you have listed. [Talk about what you specifically like about them.] I run a store called, [insert name of your store], where I sell [talk about your niche]. Based on our similar target audiences and products, I think there’s potential for a mutually beneficial affiliate partnership. I’d offer generous commissions, of course, and we can discuss other details at your earliest convenience. If you’d like to explore this further, I’m happy to send over a few product samples. Then, you can decide if you’re interested, and we can take it from there. Let me know! Thanks so much for your time,Your name
My policy with affiliate marketing is to only recommend products that I have used or have had someone close to me who I trust use and recommend. This is again something that will add weight to your recommendation and increase conversion – but it’ll also help your reputation and stop you from promoting products that are rubbish. Recommend a product that doesn’t work and your own reputation and any trust you’ve built up with those who follow your advice will suffer. Don’t sacrifice your own brand for the sake of a few quick dollars.
An Amazon Associates account. This is your affiliate network that will give you the products to promote on your videos. Anyone is allowed to sign up, but there is a review process. I was approved almost immediately, but it can take a couple of days sometimes. You probably don't need to worry about this just yet; without any video content, you have nowhere to place adverts on. If you don't want to use Amazon, check out these other affiliate networks too.
Affiliate marketing is used both in business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) campaigns, but it’s far more popular among the consumer products industry. According to the AffStat 2016 Affiliate Marketing Benchmark Report, nearly 60% of affiliate marketers promote B2C, compared to 22% for B2C services and even less for B2B products and services.
Lack of Merchant Diversity.  There seems to be very little merchant diversity within tweets, meaning that the same merchants seem to be promoted over and over again.  The most widely promoted merchants on Twitter are iTunes.Apple.com with 49% of affiliate tweets, Astrology.com with 5% of affiliate tweets, and Groupon with 2% of affiliate tweets. That’s according to The Search Monitor Tweet Data from December 20, 2011.   You can find a full list of top merchants promoted on Twitter in December 2011 on The Search Monitor Blog.
Before we can adequately explain how to start affiliate marketing, however, let’s first examine the concept in more detail. What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing involves partnering up with a more established ecommerce entrepreneur in your niche and asking them to promote your products to his or her audience. In return, you’d give the affiliate a percentage of revenue from each sale he or she generates. Affiliate marketing can be a great channel for first time ecommerce entrepreneurs because it’s one of the only marketing channels where you can get a 100% return on investment, every time.

When it comes to the best affiliate program, affiliate networks are a great start for those new to this marketing channel. Affiliate networks provide you with their own tracking systems, which makes it easier to start affiliate marketing for beginners because they facilitate contacts with affiliates appropriate to your niche. Using an existing affiliate network also helps both affiliates and entrepreneurs track how much in sales they’re generating. That way, you and your affiliate know exactly how much money he or she brought in for your business and how much commission he or she should be paid. Tracking systems provide a special sales link for the affiliate to track revenues that they brought in.

LinkConnector has struggled to stand out from the pack but nonetheless has managed to sign some exclusive deals with big name brands, including Writer’s Digest, the Disney Store, Ironman, Hats.com, and Everly. Their strictly controlled screening process for both merchants/advertisers and affiliates/publishers means that you can always rely on the quality of products on offer.

Since your pin is going directly to a seller’s site and not your blog or review, make sure that the title and description of each pin is informative and straight to the point. You can use two to three sentences and always, always, always disclose. Remember that these titles and descriptions are what help Pinterest users find you when they do a search. The better your description is, the more sales you will get.
Once you start getting a bit of traction and you're spending many hours a week doing this, that's when I'd recommend to start building affiliate links into your videos. It's the same case as making a new website- there's no point in adding ads to your page when you don't have any page views. Work on content first, then once you have a decent traffic stream, then start to work on monetization.
Affiliates may only post affiliate links on social media feeds they operate in line with their website URL, such as Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Affiliate links are prohibited on some social sharing sites, such as Pinterest and Tumblr. When posting content outside of Etsy, it is the Affiliate’s responsibility to follow each site’s policies on affiliate link
Then add a bio to describe your profile and the type of content your potential followers can expect from you. And it’s best to use up all 160 available characters. Twitter’s bio is indexed regularly, so make sure to emphasize the most important aspects of your brand. It’s recommended to use a 200 x 200 pixels profile picture for a quick and smooth page-load speed.
I’d stick with Amazon if I were you. All of my Amazon sites only have Amazon affiliate links. If you use Google Adsense display ads on your site, you’re literally taking people away from your site for the sake of just a few cents with these type of ads. If you direct them just to Amazon, then you have a greater chance of earning more money from that click.
I hope this guide helps you with starting your own YouTube Affiliate Channel. There is a lot of information here, so feel free to take in bits and pieces over time. Most YouTubers don't have instant success- it takes months of hard graft and constantly refining their technique. But if it's something you're really passionate about, now is a great time to start making videos and earning money.

Hi Jamie, awesome content that is very helpful esp with the resources, links and the rich discussions. Want to start e-commerce and blog for money…selling others products, want to go full on with this, tired of the daily routine crunch working for others. I live in a developing country (PNG) that has high internet costs (work still in progress with getting rates down…) so will see how I go with your posts. Any advise? Don’t have a website yet, have to build one I guess….
From our chat with an Amazon Associates customer service representative, Amazon says that their position on the use of Amazon Associates links in YouTube content is “not public information”. Therefore, we cannot present you with what exactly we were told. You also cannot find their rules, specific to the use of Amazon Associate links, documented anywhere on their website despite the fact that they have “guidelines.”
Given the NLP and basic machine learning methodology of the paper, these numbers should be perceived as a lower bound on disclosures. The researchers also didn’t evaluate audio or video to see if an influencer disclosed affiliations in the content itself rather than in the text. Nonetheless, it is clear that much of the influence economy that exists on these platforms remain cloaked from everyday users, despite being in clear violation of FTC guidelines and rules.
The Market Health Affiliate Program allows you to market and promote the world’s leading health and beauty offers online. We offer the highest paying affiliate program and best tracking software in our industry. If you have a web site and are interested in making money off the explosive sales in the health and beauty industry, then MarketHealth.com is perfect for you. The researchers next investigated the text of content with affiliate links and analyzed whether they made any disclosures about their economics to users. Among content that had affiliate links, 10.49% of YouTube videos and 7.03% of pins on Pinterest had disclosures. Worse, the disclosure language recommended by the FTC was only included on roughly 2% of affiliated content across the two platforms.
From what I’ve read, and from what Tasha has answered in other comments above, it seems like Amazon themselves give contradictory information. In one of Tasha’s previous answers she says, “Hi Tim! I’ve talked to Amazon about this as well, as have many other bloggers I know personally. Each one of us is getting different answers. It’s VERY frustrating. Many have been told as long as their Pinterest account is listed in their profile, it’s fine. For those that haven’t, I’ve pointed out during my calls to Amazon that you can pin Amazon affiliate products directly to Pinterest from the rewardStyle interface, so it’s silly for them to tell anyone that they can’t do it directly from their Amazon Associates account. But of course, with Amazon giving different bloggers different answers, you have to do what you are comfortable with. Or, if in doubt, pin Amazon products via rewardStyle if you are a member 🙂 Hope that helps.”
Treat Facebook as you would an old-school noticeboard - posting announcements and updates, but also asking questions to generate interest, and reposting interesting articles and stories that you think your followers will appreciate. Make sure likes you accumulate are organic; it may be appealing to buy 13,000 likes from an overseas "like farm," but it won't drive any more than the most minimal levels of additional engagement, and ends up looking more like vanity than anything useful.
1. You can start with what you have; advertise your affiliate program to your current customers and try to recruit your current customers to join your affiliate program. The benefits of recruiting your current customers are: (a) they are already loyal to you and your product so they believe in it (b) you already have their emails and phone numbers so you can contact them and inform them about your awesome affiliate program (c) who doesn’t want to earn money on the side?
Go ahead and set up your Twitter profile if you don’t have one already. Practice tweeting with captivating headlines for your best chances at getting click-throughs when you post links. Try using the AffiloTools social module to schedule tweets to keep them regular, and to make sure your followers know when you have new content or juicy deals coming up.
1. If you want your affiliates to link to any product or category page, you first need to make sure our landing page code is on all product and category pages. This can be easily done by adding our landing page code to the product and category template files that are used to control the layout for these pages. Most shopping carts have one controlling file for these pages. To get the landing page code, login to your admin area and go to Getting Started -> Set Up Software, and then in the pop-up window, click the link that says:
Let’s say I save the affiliate pin for my favorite Pinterest affiliate marketing course to a general group board called ‘Bloggers Share Your Best Pins.’ In the group board, there are pins about parenting, DIY, recipes, fashion, weight loss, and all sorts of topics. Because the board is a free-for-all, there are no relevant keywords for, well, any topic. How is the Pinterest algorithm supposed to determine that my pin is about affiliate marketing? Sometimes you have to put yourself in the Pinterest algorithm’s shoes, as strange as that sounds. How can you make its job easier? Signal exactly what your pin is about by using the right keywords and posting ONLY to relevant boards.
It uses Facebook to great effect, sharing blog posts on website color schemes, how to use alt text properly and how to set up a site at their affiliate, Bluehost. Even though it is not updated as regularly as some of the other social media profiles on this list, followers receive high quality and informative content whenever it is — making this site a click-through-and-scroll must.
Let’s start by discussing a common point of confusion: the difference between buying ads and influencer marketing. Influencer marketing relies on the utilization of brand advocates to drive your message to the larger market in an organic way. It zeroes in on those people with the largest social followings who have “influence” over your intended target audience, shaping marketing strategy involving those key influencers. Paid social, unlike free social such as a brand’s internal Facebook page or a Twitter account, involves paid banner, pop-up, and sidebar ads to boost your website presence across third party platforms. By targeting the specific audience the campaign seeks to reach using a range of tools broken down by audience “categories” (gender, region, age, preferences, and other demographics), paid social delivers your product’s message into the hands of your customers or potential customers in an effective and efficient manner. Here is a breakdown of the types of paid ads you should be aware of, with a focus on the benefits of social media advertising:
