It’s important for you to know who the big players are in your niche. For example, my website is about affiliate marketing. There are literally 10’s of thousands of affiliate marketers that are earning a full-time living. I could create a blog post about “The 10 Most Successful Affiliate Marketers In 2014” or “Affiliate Marketers Who Inspired Me” or any other list I decide to create. Once I’ve written an article and put it on my site, I can share it all over my social media accounts. But here’s the kicker – I would also send a message to all the affiliate marketers on my list with a link to the article. Just about every one of them will share it with their followers. Doing this on a regular basis can literally send thousands (even tens or hundreds of thousands) of visitors to your website every month while simultaneously helping to build your own following.
Five years ago, everyone was talking about how to properly use SEO for affiliate marketing. Sure, affiliate marketers are still leveraging Google and other search engines, but diversification has never been more important. Search engines are constantly changing their algorithms and how they rank websites. While your affiliate site may be ranking well today, that doesn’t mean it will still be ranking well next month. Relying solely on search engines can be a devastating mistake.

People don’t want to read, ‘This-product-is-great, you-should-try-it-too’ kind of messages. Trust us, they are plenty on Twitter and nobody bothers to click on that link. A more subtle approach would be to tweet the link of the product review that is on your blog. The review must be balanced and tell readers how the product is ‘useful’. Obviously, you couldn’t have done justice to the product review in 140 characters.
Tweetdeck is useful if you have more than one Twitter account, and also features a scheduling feature (albeit it's a bit more fiddly than those of Buffer and Hootsuite). You can easily view your timeline, notifications and direct messages for all accounts side-by-side, in an arrangement that's far better than logging into or out of personal and work accounts all the time.
We’ve seen many YouTubers (including very popular ones) who have links to their websites and Facebook pages in the description but don’t include a link to the product(s) they discuss. When an affiliate link adds value, don’t be shy about giving people opportunities to click on it. If you have content on your site, your social channels and your YouTube channel that is complemented by certain affiliate links, include those links in all of those places.

Yeah. So I used to run a blog that I learned a ton about affiliate marketing with. And I recently sold that blog and came over to YouTube and started a YouTube channel, and realized that nobody was using affiliate links. And I was like, what is going on? Especially the huge channels weren’t using these, and they weren’t using them the right way. And I thought, oh, I’ve got to tell everyone that they can make a lot of money without sponsored videos. So I’ve just come over and started my own channel about helping people live the ultimate life for less, and been incorporating affiliate links and then showing other people how to do it.

Hi Kate, on Pinterest, you can add the affiliate URL when you create the new pin on your account. If you already have the pin made and want to add the affiliate link, you can just “edit” the pin and change the URL. Hope that makes sense.
