If I were a member of a group board called “Beautiful Home Decor” that was created for bloggers to share their blog posts, I would feel free to pin an image from a post of mine called “10 Beautiful Couches that Won’t Break the Bank.” Of course, that blog post would contain affiliate links. But, I would never pin an image of a couch with my affiliate to a group board called “Beautiful Home Decor” that I am a member of, since that is not the purpose of the board.

It allows consumers to see and understand products before hitting the purchase button, and as visual creatures, we can’t help but watch a well-made, captivating video. Just think about it — video has only been around for about a century, but now it’s everywhere. We have Snapchat videos, 3D movies, videos on our Facebook walls, and more.
Social media is one of the most powerful tools we’ve gained in today’s modern technological age, and this goes for marketing and beyond. With mindful use, social media for affiliate marketing can be an invaluable tool to your affiliate marketing success, as well as your networking with other fellow affiliate marketers. In such a socially driven business, this networking aspect is an important one, and one that isn’t often thought of but is benefitted from greatly.
You can get lots of organic traffic by having your video rank in google search engine listings. You might have a chance of ranking high for a makeup product no one has heard of but you will have zero chance of ranking for an Apple iPhone due to competition.

When using social media for affiliate marketing, you should always stop and focus on your content first. Do your posts have the ability to stand on their own regardless of your affiliate link? Do they provide something of value to your audience? Do they grab attention? Using the right education and finesse, you can learn how to really rope in your social media platform audiences, and demand their attention with high quality and interesting content.
Everyone likes a compliment. In fact, people like compliments so much they usually share it with their friends and followers! Use this to your advantage. It’s important for you to know who the big players are in your niche. For example, my website is about affiliate marketing. There are literally 10’s of thousands of affiliate marketers that are earning a full-time living. I could create a blog post about “The 10 Most Successful Affiliate Marketers In 2014” or “Affiliate Marketers Who Inspired Me” or any other list I decide to create. Once I’ve written an article and put it on my site, I can share it all over my social media accounts. But here’s the kicker – I would also send a message to all the affiliate marketers on my list with a link to the article. Just about every one of them will share it with their followers. Doing this on a regular basis can literally send thousands (even tens or hundreds of thousands) of visitors to your website every month while simultaneously helping to build your own following.
Re-sharing content from people in your existing network helps deepen engagement with them. Valuable followers are active followers. Additionally, you help them by sharing their content with your network. In the future, those people in your network whose content you have shared will be more likely to share your content in return. After promoting thought leaders and other members of your network, you can share a self-promotional item with confidence that your audience will receive it well.

In the past, bloggers could only promote affiliate products via Pinterest indirectly by linking to a blog post that contained affiliate links. But now, if you are a blogger who has already joined affiliate programs for your favorite retailers in your niche, you can now share your affiliate links directly on Pinterest. That means that instead of creating a post to drive readers to, you can now pin and image of a product you love with your affiliate link on Pinterest. Affiliate marketing is a long-term effort and you need to create quality content first and then promote your affiliate links later. Anyone who does the reverse of this just won’t generate any income.
