If you’re using an affiliate network, the right affiliates will be able to easily find you through the built-in search feature. For example, a simple search for the word “apparel” on AffiliatePrograms.com produces a variety of search results about the best affiliate programs for 2017 under that category, along with reviews. Also, feel free to niche down your search into ‘running’ or ‘crossfit’ to pinpoint a few affiliates who understand your customer base well. They may have a blog that caters to your specific target audience.
Amazon Affiliates typically pays between 3-5% commission for each product sold. What will really determine how much you earn however is your conversion rate. The reason why it works so well is that the moment people land on Amazon, they are automatically switched into "buyer mode". Meaning, they know the only thing left for them to do is BUY. What that means, is all you have to do is get people to Amazon's site, and they literally do the selling for you.
Let’s say you’re promoting ConvertKit as an affiliate of their system. Instead of doing a video where you’re constantly saying “buy ConvertKit through my link”, you may do a video titled, “How to Use Email Marketing to Double Your Revenue”. Then as an asset and tool in that video and process, you mention ConvertKit and that the viewer can get their first 30 days free by using the link in the comments.
Before we look at how you can gain relevant followers it is worth mentioning that you should avoid buying followers from the services you see on Fiverr etc… In fact, you should avoid buying followers altogether. Many affiliate marketers think that their account looks more genuine if they have 20k ‘people’ following them. I’d stick with Amazon if I were you. All of my Amazon sites only have Amazon affiliate links. If you use Google Adsense display ads on your site, you’re literally taking people away from your site for the sake of just a few cents with these type of ads. If you direct them just to Amazon, then you have a greater chance of earning more money from that click.
