This is a fairly general Twitter tip but it applies to affiliate marketing. If you’re going to promote a product on Twitter make sure it’s highly useful to your followers. This is connected to being relevant – but goes beyond it. I find that the more useful my Twittering is the more positive feedback I get from followers. The same is true from blogging and interestingly enough it applies to the products I’ve promoted over the years. The best feedback that I can possibly get after an affiliate product campaign is from someone who bought the product and thanks me for recommending it because they found it useful. To me this is the ultimate feedback because it means I’ve not only made a little money, but more importantly I have a reader who is happy, who remains loyal and who is perhaps even more loyal than they were before I made the recommendation. This really comes down to smart selection of products to recommend – make sure that they are the best!
For this reason, if you see a good story or idea on Twitter, retweet it (this copies the tweet into your own feed, meaning your followers can see it). On Facebook or Instagram, either share a post or draw attention to it, if you think being associated with the thought boosts your own brand. By giving exposure to things you like, you might just win an ally in the person who originally posted the content (assuming you give him or her the credit they deserve when linking to it). This might mean they do the same thing in return in the future. This will further grow your following.
In the past, bloggers could only promote affiliate products via Pinterest indirectly by linking to a blog post that contained affiliate links. But now, if you are a blogger who has already joined affiliate programs for your favorite retailers in your niche, you can now share your affiliate links directly on Pinterest. That means that instead of creating a post to drive readers to, you can now pin and image of a product you love with your affiliate link on Pinterest. In the beginning, the tracking capabilities of affiliate marketing felt revolutionary: marketers were giving trackable links to publishers, with the publisher earning a commission every time a reader made a click or a purchase. Leveraging this newfound transparency opened up an opportunity for publishers to monetize their content without having to sell banner ads and pop-ups, while brands could now have a trackable, results-driven strategy for their marketing spend.
My policy with affiliate marketing is to only recommend products that I have used or have had someone close to me who I trust use and recommend. This is again something that will add weight to your recommendation and increase conversion – but it’ll also help your reputation and stop you from promoting products that are rubbish. Recommend a product that doesn’t work and your own reputation and any trust you’ve built up with those who follow your advice will suffer. Don’t sacrifice your own brand for the sake of a few quick dollars.

Because they rely heavily on affiliates to recruit new members, they treat their affiliates like true business partners. They have a solid reputation for payment and security, and have frequent special offers. Checking into your affiliate account at FriendFinder is always a fun experience, and often a profitable one.
Unlike Facebook and some other social media platforms, you can tweet very frequently. Most major companies will send out a new tweet ever hour. This includes social media management companies like HootSuite and other well known internet based companies like GoDaddy and HostGator. If they are doing it, chances are it’s pretty safe for you to do it. Since Twitter is such an “in the moment” social platform, you can even tweet out the same thing two days in a row. Hardly anyone (if anyone) will notice.
One big difference between SkimLinks and VigLinks, however, is that once you’re approved by the company, you can choose to work with any merchant or program on its platform. Pay per click affiliate programs pay marketers for sending traffic to the company they are marketing. Within real affiliate marketing, merchants have no issue paying because they are ultimately making a sale. Plus, in the era of click fraud, most merchants aren’t looking to pay you per click. Typically, the biggest mistake that most companies make is that when they connect, follow, or get followers, the relationship ends there. Just because you have followers or you follow others does not mean that you do not need to put in the work to develop a relationship. The fact is that you must be able to build a community that will maintain a good structure and will ensure the full potential for your business to succeed. Strong connections are often the result of your engagement with the community, so you need to participate and engage with your network. Otherwise, the people you are connected to will see you have no value and they will pay attention to other networks that are beneficial and offer them value.
