It is my new addiction and I can’t get enough. When you have time take a look around so you can see all of the amazing products they carry.
Visitors to your website are already familiar with your brand to some extent, making them potential candidates for your affiliate program. Plus, this is where nearly a quarter of affiliate marketers find out about new programs. Promote your affiliate program on your site with a link in an out of the way but still easily accessible place like your footer, and create a page dedicated to the program and highlighting the benefits of joining. I know, all these names like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit (don’t forget about Youtube and Snapchat), might sound a bit overwhelming. But you’ll find out that people that read your content and share your interests usually hang out on two or three of these. Again, a social media listening tool could help you analyze which platform is popular among your audience.
Hi Tim! I’ve talked to Amazon about this as well, as have many other bloggers I know personally. Each one of us is getting different answers. It’s VERY frustrating. Many have been told as long as their Pinterest account is listed in their profile, it’s fine. For those that haven’t, I’ve pointed out during my calls to Amazon that you can pin Amazon affiliate products directly to Pinterest from the rewardStyle interface, so it’s silly for them to tell anyone that they can’t do it directly from their Amazon Associates account. But of course, with Amazon giving different bloggers different answers, you have to do what you are comfortable with. Or, if in doubt, pin Amazon products via rewardStyle if you are a member 🙂 Hope that helps.
With all of my blog posts, I have the consistently scheduled to share on social media and on Pinterest. This keeps the content in front of my audience. I use the social media scheduling tools Post Planner and Tailwind for this. Many affiliate programs also have great affiliate managers that will send out information with special promotions that you can share. If there isn’t a big sale or promotion going on, I will still try to feature certain high-converting posts on Pinterest, to my email list, etc.

My target audience is bloggers, and much of my content is free knowledge on how to grow a blog, but pushing a sale is just not what I want to do. But with this list I can really see that there are a lot of options to choose from. I do have an account with shareasale already, so I’m going to start there and see what other companies will work for my audience!
Social media is creating brand new paths to success for affiliate marketers, for whom this means targeting their audience with relevant offers. In days gone by, SEO, paid ad campaigns and getting backlinks from relevant sites were the main methods used to generate traffic and interest. Changing the landscape today, social media has emerged as a quick and free way in which to drive traffic to an affiliate site.
Before you can expect people to follow you, it is important that you build yourself some credibility. Find those in your industry and begin following them. If you’re an affiliate marketer, for example, you can start following all of the companies you promote. But you should also follow individual people such as experts in your field. For example, I have a website called DogFoodInsider.com. On my twitter page (@DogFoodScoop), I follow all of the major dog food companies as well as popular dog experts such as Dr. Karen Becker and Cesar Milan. I also follow dog nutritionists, pet food stores, dog breeders, and anyone else involved with dogs. I’ll even follow random people who are clearly dog lovers and post a lot about their dogs.
Create threads and Facebook groups, hang out on forums and engage in relevant discussions. Don’t forget to respond to comments and tweets, involve your community in a conversation. And don’t be shy to use this repost/retweet button when you see someone else’s post that you like. All of this will make you visible to more people and will bring you more followers.
Your bio should be a very short description about who you are and what you do. Don’t try to attract everyone, rather, go after your target audience. Aside from Twitter being just a numbers game, it is also a game of attracting the RIGHT people. If you have a website you are promoting about dogs, you don’t care about people who have pet birds. So don’t make your bio about “pets”. Make it about dogs specifically (or even a specific breed of dog). It’s always better to start too narrow and broaden over time than to start too broad and have to narrow down later. You’ve got less than 1 minute for your bio to convince others to follow you, so make it good!
So instead of paying all this overhead up-front, you tell your mom who has a weekly book club that if she mentions your lemonade to her friends and sells a cup, you’ll give her 5 cents for each 25 cents you earn. This way, there is less risk (since there are less up-front costs), and you only pay out the commission if and when your mom actually sells a cup.
Sign into Youtube and go to “Creator Studio.” Now go to Channel –> Status And Features –> External Annotations. Add your website and go through the verification process. You may need to add your website to Google Search Console. Now go to the “Advanced” tab under Channel and add your website as an Associated Website. Full instructions are found here.
