1. Most affiliate marketers on Twitter are doing this because they are too lazy to learn how to effectively sell affiliate products. You shouldn’t try to sell someone in a PPC ad; you bring them to your sales page so that your sales letter can do the selling. It’s the same with Twitter. To do this, though, you’ve got to be relevant, which means that not everything you say can be a sales pitch. When it is, though, it has to address the needs of your list. Sending out blanket replies just doesn’t work.
One of the prime reasons that social media is highly preferred because it does not demand any cost, at least for the basic features. You just need to create an account, add your group (family & friends), become familiar with the features and follow those people, who have the same interests like you. These platforms are free of charges, but you are supposed to invest both time and efforts. You need to run your social media campaigns for three (3) months approximately and you are required to devote hours for it.
Provide Customer Service. This might not make your company money directly, but there’s a huge opportunity to build goodwill and customer loyalty (and therefore future revenue) by using Twitter as a tool to provide quick customer service. Media Temple is one example of a company that has an active customer support team operating through its Twitter account. Note the impressive response time here:
You can set up a Tweet engagement campaign which will promote your tweets to other people’s timelines. You can choose a specific tweet to promote that perhaps has your affiliate link in there or perhaps it doesn’t and you simply want more relevant followers before you begin to send your affiliate link out. This does cost money but you can select your budget and even small budgets can have a fantastic ROI by the amount of people that see your tweet, interact with it, follow you and perhaps even go on to purchase one of your affiliate products.
In the past, bloggers could only promote affiliate products via Pinterest indirectly by linking to a blog post that contained affiliate links. But now, if you are a blogger who has already joined affiliate programs for your favorite retailers in your niche, you can now share your affiliate links directly on Pinterest. That means that instead of creating a post to drive readers to, you can now pin and image of a product you love with your affiliate link on Pinterest. It has been around for the past few years and seen significant growth in its user base over this time. Obviously, you couldn’t have done justice to the product review in 140 characters.

And while you can choose specific merchants or offers, VigLink can be set up to work automatically by scanning your published content and dynamically generating affiliate links, making it a great choice for established content producers who are looking for a simpler way to generate revenue via an affiliate program.
Another thing about affiliate marketing is the payout percentages as well as how these people track your viewers who are clicking on these links. Every time someone clicks on one of your special tracking affiliate links, a little cookie is put onto that person’s computer to track what they purchase. The best part about the cookies is that if you link to a specific product, they don’t have to purchase that product. Anything they purchase on that website, you get commissions for. So they could click over with your affiliate link and that cookie and decide not to purchase that, but purchase a whole bunch of other things, and you get paid commission off it.
Hootsuite and Buffer are multi-platform applications with which you can plan when to post things through scheduling them, and decide to which channel each post should go. Both offer advice as to when the best time is to post, or let you decide for yourself.Most of the biggest social networks are covered by both, although as they are freemium (some features are free, some paid), you'll need to decide what core features you need in order to promote your site and brands on social media. For a small-scale affiliate with a few stories per week and two or three social channels, the free versions of Buffer and Hootsuite are probably sufficient.
Besides affiliate links, publishers can get access to tracking reports (clicks, sales, impressions), additional promotional materials (banners, copy, email templates) inside the retailer’s affiliate platform. These platforms also handle commission payments so publishers can expect to be paid around the same time each month, usually by Paypal or direct deposit.
