According to eBizMBA, Twitter has more than 3 hundred million estimated unique monthly visitors. If you’re feeling disappointed with Facebook, I have good news for you! On Twitter, you can tweet every 15 minutes – that’s an average lifespan of a tweet. In fact, it’s recommended to tweet no less than five or ten times every day. But the general rule still stands – you can’t expect to make money on Twitter by tweeting sales pitches every 15 minutes – you need to build a relationship. And after you establish a Twitter presence, you can link to relevant affiliate offers without having to worry about getting unfollowed or blocked.
Any commission that you are going to pay is an investment in your business. Amazon, for example, has an affiliate-marketing guide that grants a 10 percent commission for promoting a set of luxury stores. However, your final decision should stay in tune with the budget of your company. If you offer the highest commission rates to attract the best affiliates, make sure you have done the necessary calculations properly.
          The quality of your photos can make or break your pin’s success. As new bloggers, we’re all cash-strapped, this is one area where you can’t be cheap. Don’t underestimate the power of professional quality images! I use Deposit Photos to source all my images for pins. Typically, I’ll search for images like “feminine computer desk” or “workspace with flowers.”
I had that experience as well. Getting high monthly page views doesn’t necessarily translate to more traffic. You also need to focus on the conversion rate of your pins. For each pin, divide the number of clicks by the number of close ups. That gives you the conversation rate. You want that number to be at least 50%. Make a note of the pins that have the highest conversation rates and see what design elements they have in common. They create more pins like them. Hope that helps.
I would suggest buying a custom domain to integrate with your shopify store. Remember you can easily setup the store and also import products from Aliexpress. Make use of plugins and apps such as Oberlo, and Kit to assist you in your campaigns. The good thing is you can test run and even setup the whole store without spending a dime to see how it goes.
If you’re running WordPress, I use a plugin called Thirsty Affiliates to cloak, manage, and track my affiliate links (you have to pay Thirsty Affiliates for their add-ons if you want extra features). The free version is still good… just install the plugin and find the “Affiliate Links” tab on the left of your dashboard. Add the link name and destination URL, save it, then copy the cloaked version of the URL so you can add it to your Youtube video annotations.

Today, we hardly know anyone, who does not have a Facebook or Twitter account. There will also not be a single person, who does not watch videos from YouTube. In this way, you can consider social media a robust medium to promote your business as you can find customers from online conversations and scrolling timelines. Treat Facebook as you would an old-school noticeboard - posting announcements and updates, but also asking questions to generate interest, and reposting interesting articles and stories that you think your followers will appreciate. The best way to do this is to continuously analyze your conversion rate and budget, and then execute your keyword research properly. When people enter one of your keywords, your site will pop up in the top results as a sponsored link. This ensures your site gains traction and visibility from people who are actively searching for keywords relating to your business and affiliate strategy. The benefit to this strategy is that it’s a form of native advertising, so this paid search link will appear as an organic search result, thus earning you clicks from searchers.
To build on that last point about commissions in the previous section of this post, it’s important to offer generous commission rates, especially if you’re just starting out. For example, proven top fashion sites offer commissions of up to 10%, and some early-stage stores would benefit from offering even more. When it comes to affiliate marketing for beginners, providing great monetary incentives is a key way to build trust and scale up your advertising efforts by scoring great affiliates.
Affiliate marketing isn’t the only strategy to have evolved recently. Influencer marketing has undergone a makeover of its own, becoming more transparent, more streamlined and more effective. If you have felt in the past that influencers do not offer the same transparency or sales-driven results as affiliate publishers, you might be pleasantly surprised by recent updates and changes in the industry.
