3. Creating a product that only teaches people how to make money on Twitter by promoting your “make money on Twitter” product is, well, just sad. Sure, you might make a few bucks, but what does that get you? Again, it is this type of short term thinking that turns Twitter into a madhouse and creates an environment where marketers are no longer trusted. At that point, you’ve ruined it for all of us. A lot of people don't get Twitter. Perhaps they're put off engagement on the network by the endless slew of negative news about the activities of trolls (abusive people), sending angry, upsetting or annoying messages to other Twitter users. However, to really use social media to its maximum in promoting your affiliate programs, you need to be on Twitter, as we explored previously.

To get people involved and talking, be sure to ask lots of question in your twitter feed. Everyone likes to give their 2 cents, so give them a platform to do so. For example, if you have a twitter feed about golfing, you might ask “what is your favorite golf club brand?” Or you can specifically target a segment, such as golfers in California, by asking what their favorite golf course is in California. A large number of your tweets should include questions to help entice others to respond. The more response and interaction you get, the more likely someone will check out your profile and visit your website to learn more.
Yet, if you are still not sold on the payoffs of offering high commissions, remember that your affiliates are not just bringing you sales, they’re bringing you customers. You’ll have access to people who you can re-market to time and time again.
