I find this post extremely helpful. I have found that most affiliate marketers use the marketing tactics that they are taught in the program to which they belong. You want to get those viewers who are searching through hundreds of videos to click on your video and a good title can be the key to this. Make sure your title is captivating and also true to your video content. Creating simply clickbait videos will cause your video to get disliked and the bounce rate will skyrocket. This two negative signals will cause your video to be pushed further down into the oblivion of search.
Nice tips here, Steve. I’ve been a huge fan of YouTube for niches other than IM-related stuff. Apart from a few outliers, my Blogging Bookshelf and The Backlight videos never got too many views. How do your SSS vids fare? My Amazopia videos, though, have 220,000+ views now and are the main source of traffic for the blog. And I know you’ve said in the past that you get lots of YouTube traffic for your main niche.

This ratio applies to all of your social content, including affiliate links. What this means is that you should be sharing 20% of your own content and 80% of curated content. Rather, 2 out of 8 posts should be promotional in nature. Affiliate links are included in that 20%, so make sure you don’t go overboard. Of course you want to increase your passive income with your social affiliate marketing, but you also don’t want to drive followers away with any incessant promotion of your links.

Affiliate links have become easy to spot, and this may turn off potential traffic within your audience by way of feeling “sketchy” or like you’re pulling one over on them. Rather than using just your affiliate link, create a redirect link that looks a bit simpler and cleaner, and therefore more attractive for those clicks. A clean and simple link is a link that will be more enticing to click.
The bulk of the offers that I promote pay around $20-$40 per lead, but there are others that pay more and less. However, you don't want to get caught up solely on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same and possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.
Review: Since Refersion charges based on the quantity of affiliate sales processed in a given month, I recommend them for medium/higher ticket item stores, or stores with an average checkout of $30-$60 or higher. At that level, their fee structure becomes very attractive because you're only paying incrementally for sales, and not for traffic, whereas many other apps charge based on the number of visits regardless of where they originate from. Whereas if you're a high volume low ticket store, you might prefer paying for traffic and getting unlimited sales.
