Affiliate marketing isn’t the only strategy to have evolved recently. Influencer marketing has undergone a makeover of its own, becoming more transparent, more streamlined and more effective. If you have felt in the past that influencers do not offer the same transparency or sales-driven results as affiliate publishers, you might be pleasantly surprised by recent updates and changes in the industry.
First, let me emphasize that I feel strongly that bloggers should not go overboard when sharing affiliate links on Pinterest. Think about it… When you scroll through your Pinterest feed, do you want to only see products for sale? Probably not. So exercise your judgment and make sure that affiliate links are a small percentage of the content that you share on Pinterest.

If you’re linking to lower quality products, regardless of your post quality, the look of your link, or your photo use, you’re not going to make what you want to make from social media for affiliate marketing. You’ll always have more success backing a product you love or really believe in, and if you impress your audiences with a quality product, they’re more like to do word of mouth marketing for you, sending other interested parties to you to experience the product for themselves. While focusing on as many products as you can, regardless of quality, may seem like the way to get more from social media for affiliate marketing, you’re doing yourself a disservice when compared to backing a few products that you really love.

One of the things that I noticed earlier in the week about those who were promoting the affiliate product on Twitter (an AdSense tips product) was that quite a few of them were not normally writing about anything to do with AdSense. Adding a link to an affiliate product that has little to do with what you normally write about on Twitter is not smart. For starters it won’t convert and secondly it potentially will annoy your readers. If you’re going to directly promote products from Twitter make sure they are relevant to the followers you have.

If you have an active channel on YouTube are building subscribers, and like to upload regular videos about anything, you can turn your video views into constant income for you. Make sure you're excited about the video as much as you want your audience to be. If you show no enthusiasm for your video, talk in dull voice or slow monotone style, how do you expect your audience to feel influenced by you? The best Affiliate Youtubers are masters of this craft; they make you want to buy the product but they are also entertaining and provide information in an attention grabbing way.

Especially the huge channels weren’t using these, and they weren’t using them the right way. And I thought, oh, I’ve got to tell everyone that they can make a lot of money without sponsored videos. So I’ve just come over and started my own channel about helping people live the ultimate life for less, and been incorporating affiliate links and then showing other people how to do it.

The concern from an SEO perspective is that YouTube, their goal is to keep people on YouTube for as long as possible, watching as much content as possible, engaging with as many videos as possible, seeing as many ads as possible. And so if your video ends the viewing session for a viewer, like they watch your video, then they click on that link and go to that company’s website and buy the product, that’s great for you, but your video could potentially not perform. If everyone who watches the video took you up on that offer, your video could potentially not perform as well as it otherwise might.
