It is far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.
The idea of making money while you sleep is nothing new. Passive income has been a popular buzzword for the past couple of years. One way to generate such passive income is with affiliate marketing. If you want to earn money but don't have anything to sell, affiliate income comes into play and can leave you making some pretty decent change each month.
Affiliate marketing now faces a critical transition: with social media becoming increasingly shopper-friendly, bloggers are dropping their websites for Instagram fame. After previously relying on “publishers” to drive traffic for clients as part of an affiliate program, affiliate-focused agencies must now quickly get up to speed on new tactics, social platforms, and strategies to serve brands who are now seeking more comprehensive results from a diverse range of channels – not just web. With consumers swiping up on Instagram Stories to shop the looks of their favorite social media influencers, the convenience of shopping via social media is increasingly becoming the norm for shoppers looking to purchase on-the-go. Those affiliate marketers who are still only investing in website publishers and click-through metrics now run the risk of missing broad swaths of new customers and business on social.
Computer scientists Arunesh Mathur, Arvind Narayanan, and Marshini Chetty compiled a random sample of hundreds of thousands of videos on YouTube  and millions of pins on Pinterest. They then used text extraction and frequency analysis to investigate URLs located in the descriptions of these items to determine whether the URL or any redirects behind it connected to an affiliate network.

In this age of interconnectedness, people will be more likely to click your link and buy an affiliate product if they feel a special bond with you. That goes back to the old rule of affiliate marketing: don’t be a salesperson, be a friend! You’re much more likely to listen to the recommendations from a friend. So choose an appropriate product, test it yourself, create good content, explain why the product is actually useful and market it on social media by engaging and growing. That’s the way to success.
As an affiliate marketer, you want to promote products that are actually useful for people. Recommend a substandard product and see your reputation get marred. This is a world where messages spread at the speed of light, so you must be careful at what you are getting your hands into. It’s a good strategy to use the product first to get an idea about how it works and then promote it. Your message will seem much more genuine then.
You’ll realize that attributing commission directly to a specific link is difficult to do, so to gain the insights that will help you best optimize your campaign, you need to be clever. One way is to test a single variation per week – for example only post photos to Facebook at 3pm, then measure the commission earned that for week. The following week do the same, but post at 3pm on Twitter. You could also use bit.ly links to track the click-throughs on social networks that otherwise don’t provide you with these insights (I’m looking at you, Twitter). 
In this way, you’ll slowly build a picture of which programs are profitable, and which are a waste of time.
There are many programs out there that allow you to schedule tweets, so even if you can’t be at your computer every hour of the day, your can still update your twitter feed regularly. I already mentioned HootSuite which is a service that allows you to schedule tweets, but a simple Google search will reveal many more. The more you tweet, the more likely people will notice you, so don’t be shy.
Try and write content that can be updated from time to time simply by adding links to your recent articles. Even if your article gets shifted from the front page, your readers should be impressed going through it. Most platforms allow you to show ‘most recent’ or ‘most popular’ on every page, so even if your article is not new, it will always show access to your new pages. Old content shared by you can still give you good revenue.

As for now, I’m comfortable using SiteGround affiliate network and it’s pretty good actually. Their hosting service is pretty much the best considered its price. I’ve tried others but SiteGround stands out. I’ll also try new affiliate networks, something from the list you have just provided. I think Amazon is too saturated at the moment, and I need a better network. 2018 will be interesting indeed.

Their Twitter feed links directly to these reviews along with great pictures, and it’s easy to see why they have more than 80k followers — they are a major player in affiliate marketing.
Typically, the biggest mistake that most companies make is that when they connect, follow, or get followers, the relationship ends there. Just because you have followers or you follow others does not mean that you do not need to put in the work to develop a relationship. The fact is that you must be able to build a community that will maintain a good structure and will ensure the full potential for your business to succeed. Strong connections are often the result of your engagement with the community, so you need to participate and engage with your network. Otherwise, the people you are connected to will see you have no value and they will pay attention to other networks that are beneficial and offer them value.
