This does cost money but you can select your budget and even small budgets can have a fantastic ROI by the amount of people that see your tweet, interact with it, follow you and perhaps even go on to purchase one of your affiliate products.

Besides affiliate links, publishers can get access to tracking reports (clicks, sales, impressions), additional promotional materials (banners, copy, email templates) inside the retailer’s affiliate platform. These platforms also handle commission payments so publishers can expect to be paid around the same time each month, usually by Paypal or direct deposit.
Unlike Facebook and some other social media platforms, you can tweet very frequently. Most major companies will send out a new tweet ever hour. This includes social media management companies like HootSuite and other well known internet based companies like GoDaddy and HostGator. If they are doing it, chances are it’s pretty safe for you to do it. Since Twitter is such an “in the moment” social platform, you can even tweet out the same thing two days in a row. Hardly anyone (if anyone) will notice.
Once you start getting a bit of traction and you're spending many hours a week doing this, that's when I'd recommend to start building affiliate links into your videos. It's the same case as making a new website- there's no point in adding ads to your page when you don't have any page views. Work on content first, then once you have a decent traffic stream, then start to work on monetization.
Next, you need to make sure affiliate marketing makes sense for your own products in terms of profit margins. If you’re selling products with a very low profit margin then giving away part of the profit as commission to your affiliates, you might want to think twice. If you find yourself in this situation, you may want to consider increasing the price of your products to include the affiliate’s commission.
Since your pin is going directly to a seller’s site and not your blog or review, make sure that the title and description of each pin is informative and straight to the point. You can use two to three sentences and always, always, always disclose. Remember that these titles and descriptions are what help Pinterest users find you when they do a search. The better your description is, the more sales you will get.
Some companies pay a higher commission than others. Some companies allow 30 days or more cookie duration (that is how long after they click your link you will get credit for the sale) and some are as few as 24 hours. Also, if it’s a product many bloggers are recommending, sometimes the first blogger to refer gets the commission and sometimes it’s the last.
Posts without value are posts that will cause your audience to lose interest and the goodwill of your audiences, rendering your efforts of using social media for affiliate marketing useless. For example, on my social media platforms I like to have 80% of my posts as entertainment or education purposes only and only 20% of my posts have anything to do with promotions.
Twitter is about the exchange of ideas in 140 characters or fewer. Crucially, unlike Facebook or LinkedIn, Twitter is often used by people who have never otherwise made contact with each other, in order to have tightly-focused conversations about things that interest them. This makes it perfect for growing your network, and thus growing your userbase - if you know how to converse.
Second, it’s a good idea to create a few new personal boards that are used solely for the purpose of pinning products that are for sale (using your affiliate links of course). For example, I have created a personal board called “Gorgeous Throw Pillows and Bedding.” The description for the board is “This board is full of gorgeous throw pillows, accent pillows, decorative pillows, duvet covers, sheets and bedding. Changing your throw pillows and bedding is such an easy way to refresh any room on a budget!” I pin beautiful products to it and edit the urls of the pin to my affiliate links, using the process described above.
Go ahead and set up your Twitter profile if you don’t have one already. Practice tweeting with captivating headlines for your best chances at getting click-throughs when you post links. Try using the AffiloTools social module to schedule tweets to keep them regular, and to make sure your followers know when you have new content or juicy deals coming up.
The tool LiketoKnow.it (owned by rewardStyle) capitalized on just that, and has created a pretty neat affiliate marketing program for Instagram. It’s application/invite-only, meaning you have to apply and be accepted for their program (which can take months), but if you get in, it is well worth it. It was originally created for fashion bloggers, but now has branched out to several different types of content:
The bulk of the offers that I promote pay around $20-$40 per lead, but there are others that pay more and less. However, you don't want to get caught up solely on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same and possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.
