Make sure you're excited about the video as much as you want your audience to be. If you show no enthusiasm for your video, talk in dull voice or slow monotone style, how do you expect your audience to feel influenced by you? The best Affiliate Youtubers are masters of this craft; they make you want to buy the product but they are also entertaining and provide information in an attention grabbing way.
You can make money on YouTube by doing affiliate marketing, which is including links to products you review and use in your videos that will track a purchase. If someone makes a purchase using your affiliate link, you receive a small commission for the sale. Melea is an expert in affiliate marketing and joins us to give us some tips for how to make money on YouTube with affiliate links.
I have now done three courses on Affiliate Marketing and can recommend all three so if you want to check out each of these in more details here are the links to have a look at. I like them all for different reasons and its up to do which ones you choose they all cover the basics but I would say Makingsense of affiliate marketing probably is the most in-depth and comprehensive but it depends on how much you want to go into it each has different tips but essentially each course covers the basics.
Build Links. One of the most valuable things you can get from your Twitter activity may be a link to your site(s). There’s obviously no money exchanged with a link, but there are some clear indirect benefits; links to your content will expose new audiences to your site, and may help you move up the search rankings as well. If done correctly, Twitter can be a great tool for highlighting the content you’ve published on the Web–and getting other users to send links to it. That can have a big payoff down the road, as it leads to more visitors and more potential customers.Check out further reading on link building with Twitter.
The tricky thing with Instagram is that it doesn’t allow links in your posts. I mean, you can put a link in your post, it just won’t work. Of course, you can tell your audience to copy and paste, but that would mean they have to copy the link, close Instagram, go to their browser… Too much work! It’s much easier to click a link and be done with it.
He also says, "social media has a lot of mobile users. This means social media affiliate marketing can be integral in increasing mobile sales and clicks." An increasing percentage of users view all webpages through the screen of a phone or tablet. Make sure your affiliate marketing website is mobile-optimized, but also make sure that all your links from Twitter go to pages that are just as good on a Samsung Galaxy Mini as they are on your Dell XPS or Apple MacBook.
Once you have been following people for a few weeks, check out the list of everyone you are following. If you don’t see the words “Follows You” next to their name, you are not being followed by that person. If you don’t find their Twitter feed particularly helpful or interesting, feel free to remove them from the list of people you follow so you can add others. You do need to be a bit careful about this as constantly following and un-following large groups of people can be considered spam. I very highly recommend you read Twitter’s policies on following and un-following people.
Plan your video before you make it. Rambling is one way to make a long, over-saturated video that can cause your bounce rate to sky rocket (people clicking off the video). Make a script to follow (but give yourself for some improvisation) and also don't be afraid to cut out content you think is uninteresting or not relevant. No one wants to hear about your Gran's sixtieth birthday bash on a video unboxing the latest sneakers.
Unfortunately, the 2Checkout dashboard is a bit limited in scope, making it difficult to get any metrics on conversion rates or even sorting by commission payouts. The workaround is to go to the Avangate store, which does list their best-selling products, and then search for these on the affiliate dashboard. That being said, 2Checkout does offer products from more than 4,000 different vendors, making it the leading affiliate network for software and digital products.
Today, we hardly know anyone, who does not have a Facebook or Twitter account. There will also not be a single person, who does not watch videos from YouTube. We will find a minority that is not active on social media. In this way, you can consider social media a robust medium to promote your business as you can find customers from online conversations and scrolling timelines. It has become comparatively easier as people access the Internet over their mobile phones and smart phones.
People love to buy…we love to consume great content. However, we have to be warmed up before we do it. On social networks, it’s the relationships that sell, not the message. It’s really up to you, though. You can spam people and make a quick buck (maybe), or you can build credibility and build a successful business. In my opinion, taking the latter route is much more efficient.
As an affiliate marketer, you want to promote products that are actually useful for people. Recommend a substandard product and see your reputation get marred. This is a world where messages spread at the speed of light, so you must be careful at what you are getting your hands into. It’s a good strategy to use the product first to get an idea about how it works and then promote it. Your message will seem much more genuine then.
Hi Kate, on Pinterest, you can add the affiliate URL when you create the new pin on your account. If you already have the pin made and want to add the affiliate link, you can just “edit” the pin and change the URL. Hope that makes sense. In the book, Elise has a step by step tutorial with photos on how to add the URL to Pinterest in case you need more help.
Write a description using your main target long-tail keyword and 2-3 related keywords from the search results. With a regular pin, your main target keyword should be in your blog post title. meta description, pin title, and pin description. Affiliate pins don’t have a blog post title or meta description so you just need to focus on the pin title and pin description. This below is my affiliate description. Notice how I effortlessly weave in the keywords? After writing your description, read it over and make sure it sounds natural. Below, I used #affiliate, but now I use #ad to be more explicit.
The beauty guru's are not to be left out, you too can cash in with the Sigma Beauty Affiliate Program. All you need to do is sign up with the sigma beauty affiliates program, receive your affiliate code and read through their instructions for how to maximize your income through their program. Sigma prefers that you include the links in your about section and youtube video descriptions as well as mentioning each brush that you use by name, so the audience know which link to click. How much you receive is dependent on what kind of marketing you do and how heavy you sell the products.
But that’s kind of the balance is you’ve got to balance like I’m developing an audience, but I need to make it sustainable. So sometimes it makes great business sense for you to go ahead and use an affiliate. And other times you’re like, you know what? Maybe not on this video because my main goal for this video is just to get it to rank really high.
